The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is, as the name would imply, the third game in the epic RPG series.
This is the second Witcher game I’ve played (The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings being the first) and just like its predecessor it is a massive game. In fact this is probably the biggest game I’ve ever played. If you’re the kind of player who wants to see and do everything in the game then this epic could easily last you more than 100 hours.
I really can’t say enough good things about this game. The story is incredibly written and feels completely real within the universe of the game regardless of what order you play things in. The way the game plays is also top notch with combat involving both player skill as well as strategy ahead of time which adds even more depth.
It is also a a very beautiful game with so many little details strewn all over the play that it truly does feel like a real, lived in world. The music and especially the voice acting are also some of the best in any game I’ve ever played.
For a game as epic as this you would think there would be sacrifices made but really the only two complaints I have are minor. For one the game’s menu system, especially the inventory system, can get bogged down and very slow once you’ve built up an impressive collection of items. The only other issue is that in some circumstances, usually in the middle of a crowded city for example, the game can run into brief slowdown. Thankfully it is very infrequent and never gets in the way of the core game or something like combat where it would really matter.
If you couldn’t tell by now I really liked this game and think it’s definitely worth picking up.
