Game Review: Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (Xbox One)

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided picks up right where the previous game in the series, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, left off as you once again take the role of Interpol agent Adam Jensen in an even more conflicted world of ‘augmented’ and ‘natural’ humans.

I don’t want to ruin any of the plot, or the one in the previous series for that matter, but I will simply say that if you enjoyed the last one then you’ll likely enjoy this one as well. The major difference between the two games seems to be that this one places far more emphasis on stealth gameplay, to the point where you can now complete the entire game without firing a single bullet! This makes for an interesting experience as you are constantly on the lookout for ways to hack or sneak your way around the levels because it is often easier, and more rewarding, to do that than to start a firefight you’ll likely end up losing.

The game is pretty and the world is very immersive, but the lip syncing, at least for the English version, is quite off.

If you are looking for an exciting, fast paced, shoot-em-up this is not your game. However if you want something a bit more methodical and story driven, almost like the Fallout games, then you should probably give this one a go.

My review: Great
Pick it up for: Any Price
Metacritic score: 83 / 100
