Updates to my OpenPGP key

With my current OpenPGP key set to expire in the middle of December I’ve decided to extend its life by changing the expiry date for the primary signing key 0xFEEEFA8F and adding a new encryption subkey that can be used when the existing one expires. The new expiry date for the main signing key as well as the new encryption subkey is 2 years from today.

Before getting into the actual notice allow me to capture exactly what I did:

gpg –edit-key FEEEFA8F

gpg> key 0

gpg> expire

I then entered in the new expiry information for the primary signing key.

gpg> addkey

Here I chose option 6 which is a new RSA (encrypt only).

With my current OpenPGP key set to expire on December 15th, I have decided that now is a good time to extend the life of my primary signing key - which I believe to not be compromised at this time. I have also added a new encryption subkey which can be used when the existing encryption subkey expires on December 15th.

Please do update your local copies of my key so that you have the latest version. This message is signed to certify the change.

The signing key remains unchanged. It is:

pub 4096R/0xFEEEFA8F 2013-12-16
Key fingerprint: D1B0 2237 5BA9 E6E0 235E FF75 8AA0 A0CE FEEE FA8F

The old encryption subkey which will expire on December 15th is:

4096R/4E9A1A2D1D968525
created: 2013-12-16 expires: 2018-12-15

The new encryption subkey is:

4096R/B0F2B714B1D983EC
created: 2018-11-12 expires: 2020-11-11

To fetch my updated keys from a public key server, you can do:

gpg --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-key FEEEFA8F
